Leadership Team

Tom Aune

Founder and Director

Tom founded Suremploy in 2000 after opening and operating several private physiotherapy clinics in NSW. He completed a Bachelor of Applied Science in Physiotherapy and Graduate Diploma in Sport and Exercise Science from Sydney University. He has worked as a clinical physiotherapist for many years and gradually transitioned to an occupational health focus. He has taught at the tertiary level and published in the American Journal of Sports Medicine and elsewhere.

Tom’s entrepreneurial perspective challenges traditional views, achieving outstanding results. His work in the injury prevention space has been shown to significantly reduce injury rates and costs across a broad range of Australian workplaces. Tom’s extensive knowledge and experience culminated in the development of a highly innovative and effective pre-employment assessment tool.

Tom is passionate about innovating to improve lives in terms of both physical and mental health. He values quality time with family and friends as well as travel, especially to his native Scandinavia.
